I have always been a cat lover, and I knew that when I graduated from college I would eventually want to get kitties of my own! When I hired the Crazy Cat Lady (Marlene) to watch Penny while I was away, I quickly learned she treats her furry clients the same way she treats their human counterparts with consideration and care. She has a kind of intuition with animals and while Penny is a friendly outgoing cat in most situations I knew when I returned that not only were her physical needs met but she made a new friend. I have already booked the Marlene for my next vacation. –Cindy

I had recently rescued my baby kitten, Aslan in June and was scheduled for a surgery in December. I knew I couldn't care for Aslan for a couple of weeks after surgery and fortunately I was put in touch with Marlene. Most cat sitters don't provide in-home care for their clients, but Marlene agreed she would take Aslan for two weeks and care for him in her home. I was so grateful. Marlene not only took great care of Aslan, but she and her two kitties also taught him a few manners. She also was fabulous about texting me updates and photos nearly every day we were apart.
When the time came for Aslan to come home, it was a wonderful transition. We still chat and when needed, Marlene even makes house calls to keep Aslan's nails trimmed. I highly recommend Marlene to care for your kitties. She loves them, and they adore her. –Julie

I moved to St. Louis for a new job and didn’t know anyone in the city so I brought my 13-year-old baby, Clyde, with me. Because of my job and the fact that all my family and friends live elsewhere I travel somewhat often and hated the thought of leaving Clyde with one of my neighbors or whoever could watch him for the weekend. Clyde often doesn’t like new people, or really anyone but me, and he gets stressed easily. But then my mom found Marlene and I was so relieved that I found someone I could trust to regularly watch Clyde and build a relationship with him. The first couple times I left him with her I could tell he was stressed but he’s definitely grown to be comfortable around her and she knows how to respect his boundaries but also get him to play and relax. I would recommend Marlene to anyone in need of a cat sitter, even those worried to leave their cat with a stranger because Marlene will soon become a friend to you and your feline! –Lindsey

When I adopted Ella, I knew nothing about living with a cat, nevertheless a kitten. It was very clear early on that my new rambunctious fur-baby was going to need some extra care during my work hours. We hired Marlene to give the kitten play time during the day, and she also took care of the litter box and food and water dishes. Marlene was very responsible and provided love for my new kitty like she was one of her own. I got pictures and updates after every visit and tips regarding kitten care. Now that Ella is bigger and my work schedule has changed, we have stopped the daily visits, but I know we will use Marlene again when we go out of town or need other kinds of help again cat care. –Deborah

I first contacted Marlene the day before my wife and I were supposed to leave the country on our honeymoon. My previous sitter had to cancel at the last minute, which left me scrambling to find someone to help. After calling numerous providers, looking back I am glad Marlene was the only one that could fit us into her schedule. Marlene is friendly, accommodating and, most importantly, she clearly cares about animals. I was impressed by the questions she asked during our initial call and could tell she was going to do a great job for our cats. Marlene watched my three cats on a very short notice for about a week. She came by twice a day to feed them and play with them, she sent me pictures and kept me posted about how they were doing. I can't describe how happy I am to have found someone that I can trust my kitties with when I am out of town! It was like I had never left....the one of my three cats has a history of some behavioral issues whenever I return from a trip, and the other two just seem generally off. To have someone that is so good with cats, and to take the time to play with them and engage with them, as opposed to just stopping by to feed them and clean the litter box, is so invaluable. The cats were perfectly normal and happy when I got home, and they took to her right away. She also took in the mail and packages, and offered to clean and water the garden. She is reliable, trustworthy, and truly has a special touch with animals. And she's also just a cool lady and very easy and fun to talk to :-) I will definitely book her services again, and I highly recommend her to anyone that needs a pet sitter. Thank you Marlene!
